Springtime in the Smokies!

One of the most appealing aspects of the Smoky Mountains region for vacationing couples, families and tour groups is that the area offers something unique during each season of the year. The month of March and the dawning of spring is certainly no exception to this rule. No sooner do the Smoky Mountain sister cities of Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg finish celebrating the popular Smoky Mountains Winterfest Festival than they gear for Springfest Festival. Like the Winterfest Festival, this event is put on jointly by all three cities. This makes for a festive environment throughout the Smoky Mountains! This celebrated festival is a Smoky Mountain wide event that welcomes the springtime bloom of the surrounding Smoky Mountains with special events, craft shows, decorating contests, and much more. Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville jointly put on this festival; with each city offering its own festival attractions and events.

Pigeon Forge, TN : March 9th -13th : The 11th Annual "A Mountain Quiltfest"
Quilt lovers, and those who make them, will be sure to want to take in this event that takes place at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center and the Music Road Hotel and Convention. The event includes a multi-category quilt show as well as instructional seminars on quilting led by national quilting experts.

Gatlinburg, TN: March 17th -18th : The Smoky Mountain Spring Spectacular, Spring Floor Event and UCA Cheerleading Championship
This event brings together some of the nation's top cheerleading squads. The event takes place at the Gatlinburg Convention Center.

Pigeon Forge, TN : March 18th-21st : The 3rd Annual Smoky Mountain Traditions
This event celebrates the work of some of Appalachia's most skilled crafters. Mountain music performers are live to provide the perfect Bluegrass backdrop.
