Gatlinburg, TN - Jan. 1st - Feb. 28th: The Gatlinburg
Winterfest Illumination and Decoration Contest
This is a fun-filled Smoky Mountain area event where local
merchants express their Winterfest spirit by joining in
on a Gatlinburg-wide decorating and lighting contest.
The result is a Smoky Mountain spectacle of light. Come
and be an eyewitness to Gatlinburg's brilliant transformation.

1st- Feb. 28th: The 15th Annual Smoky Mountain Winterfest
Festival
This is a three-fold celebration where the three
Smoky Mountain cities of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and
Sevierville all take part in a celebration of light that
makes the entire region surrounding the Great Smoky Mountains
National Park sparkle with over 5 million brilliant lights.
In addition to the dazzling light displays, the Winterfest
festival also features special theatre events as well.
Gatlinburg, TN - Jan. 1st - 29th: The Gatlinburg
Winterfest Trolley Ride
The Gatlinburg trolley is always a popular Smoky
Mountain area attraction. The Winterfest only adds to
the attraction since the trolley provides a perfect way
to experience the million+ display of dazzling lights
that light up downtown Gatlinburg this time of year. In
January the Winterfest trolley ride runs on weekends.
The trolley departs from traffic light #3. The trolley
runs at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30. Group reservations can be
made if you call ahead to the Gatlinburg Convention Center.
Gatlinburg, TN - Jan. 1st - 7th: Traditions of
Christmas at Christus Gardens
Christus Gardens is well known for its year-round
Christmas theme. In early January you can come and "experience
the true meaning of Christmas" by experiencing the Smoky
Mountains' most visited nativity production. Christus
Gardens' "Traditions of Christmas" display includes various
Christmas cultural expression, colorful banners and spectacular

Pigeon Forge, TN - Jan. 2nd - 4th: The 15th Annual
Smoky Mountains Storytelling Festival
This is a family-friendly Smoky Mountain event that features
renowned storytellers from across the nation. A wide variety
of stories are told; everything from ancient folk tales
to Tennessee ghost stories. You can choose to hear these
tales from the comfortable confines of the Country Tonite
Theatre or while taking in a Pigeon Forge Winterfest trolley
ride. The event features a cowboy poet, a champion liar,

Pigeon Forge, TN - Jan. 3rd - 31st: The Pigeon
Forge Winterfest Tour of Lights
Gatlinburg is not the only Smoky Mountain city
offering trolley rides during the Winterfest season. Pigeon
Forge offers its own set of trolley rides that depart
from the Funtime Trolley Station in Patriot Park. The
trolley rides are offered on the weekdays of Monday, Wednesday
and Friday throughout January.
Gatlinburg, TN - Jan. 3rd - February 28th: Ober
Gatlinburg's Night Magic Skiing
When you have lights to illuminate the hill, there's no
better time to tackle the slopes than after dark. The
Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort offers night skiing from Monday
to Friday (excluding holidays) from early January through
the end of February. Night skiing is available from 6:00
p.m. to 10:00 p.m. For more information you can call the

Pigeon Forge, TN: Jan.6th - 7th: The National
Fishing Lures Winterfest Event
The National Fishing Lure Collectors' Club joins in on
the Smoky Mountain Winterfest Festival by hosting a Fishing
Lures event at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center in
downtown Pigeon Forge. Tables are $20 each. For more information

Pigeon Forge, TN - Jan. 8th - 16th: The 15th Annual
Smoky Mountain Wilderness Wildlife Week This
weeklong event features a wide variety of outdoor recreational
activities, seminars and interactive lectures designed
to connect people with the natural splendor of the Great
Smoky Mountains National Park. Come out and listen to
some Smoky Mountain wilderness experts share the wonder
of this national treasure. All events are free of charge.
The perfect way to tie in with the Smoky Mountain Wilderness
Wildlife Week that takes place in Pigeon Forge is to enjoy
