Smoky Mountain News: May 2005
The Smoky Mountains are famous not just
for the beauty of the natural scenery, but also for the
unique culture that has developed in the area over time.
Visitors to the Smokies and to local cities such as Pigeon
Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville come back year after
year to experience the southern hospitality that goes
hand in hand with the charm of Smoky Mountain culture.
No matter what time of year you come you can expect to
experience something unique and entertaining.
Not only does each season show off a different aspect
of the Smoky Mountains themselves, but it also allows
you to enjoy and take part in the variety of annually
occurring cultural events and festivals that happen in
and around eastern Tennessee. May is no exception. This
time of year, summer is knocking at the door, the trees
in the Smokies are in glorious full-bloom, and the arts,
musical and cultural season is just beginning to kick
into high gear.
Below is a list of just some of the events, activities
and festivals happening in the Smoky Mountain region this
month:

out with a bang- with a grand parade through downtown
Gatlinburg. If interested in obtaining further details
